2. Purposes and legal bases
We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:
- To provide the Service — create and manage your account, sync your saved events, deliver content and features. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To analyse and improve the Service — measure usage, perform behavioural analytics, run A/B tests, debug, improve recommendations and develop new features. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating and improving a stable, relevant product.

3. Analytics and tracking
We use first- and third-party analytics tools (for example Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta and similar providers) and cookies, SDKs and device identifiers to track how you interact with the Service. This includes pages and screens visited, time spent, taps, scrolls, conversion events and crashes. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device.
4. Email marketing and push notifications
With your consent, or where otherwise permitted by Swedish marketing law (Marknadsföringslagen 2008:486), we send you emails and push notifications about RaceHype, races, organizers and related offers. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can disable notifications in your device settings or in the app.
5. Sharing of data
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers acting as our data processors (hosting, authentication, analytics, email and push delivery, customer support and similar). These providers process data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.
- Organizers and third-party sites you choose to interact with (e.g. when you click through to register for a race). Their own privacy policies apply.
- Authorities and other recipients where required by law, court order or to protect our rights.
- Any successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside the EU/EEA. When we transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions or other valid transfer mechanisms under Chapter V GDPR, together with appropriate supplementary measures.
7. Retention
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes and meet legal obligations (typically up to 7 years for accounting records under the Swedish Accounting Act, Bokföringslagen 1999:1078). Analytics data is retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your personal data and receive a copy.
- Have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed.
- Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing, including for direct marketing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.

The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 16 (or the applicable digital consent age in your country), you must have parental consent to use the Service.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure, and you use the Service at your own risk.
